Eternal Kashi // Ghatscape

A celebration of all things beautiful,
Good Earth is India’s leading lifestyle and luxury decor brand.
As a part of my internship programme,
I had the delightful opportunity to work with the Mumbai design team
on conceptualising and visualising merchandising ideas for their
Eternal Kashi design collection (2015-2016).

My primary task was to design two installations -
an air-borne mobile structure to be strung in the atrium of the flagship store
as well as a window display,
both revolving around the mystical city of Kashi (Benares) & its cultural confluence.

Ghatscape - A nostalgic window to the mystical city
A moodboard of the city featuring the hybrid architecture, textiles, motifs and florals.
The ghatscape would be constructed using all these elements to tell the tale of the fabled city by the river.
Visualisation of the diorama display.
Through the jharokha, one can see the hybrid architecture of the city,
the rivers washing them at the base,
the blooming lotuses in the waters, and peacocks strolling the gardens.
The various layers of the diorama, separated and vectorised for ease of production.
The concept was translated to reality by Meghna Gandhi and her production design team,
and placed in the flagship store at Raghuvanshi Mills, Lower Parel. ©Goodearth
